The Bulgarian factory Sopharma made a product called Tribestan and everyone I spoke to who took it confirmed the great effect of Tribestan on mass and strength training.
In the mid-eighties of the last century, still a high school student training in a weightlifting club, I had the opportunity to hear from weightlifters about the excellent effect of Tribestan after breaking the cycle on anabolics in the phase of the transition period to the competition. The lifters stopped taking anabolics a few weeks before the competition in order not to be caught on doping control, and during that period they took Tribestan to preserve the effects of anabolics and maintain strength and the best possible results for the competition.
As for other producers of tribulus (and there are plenty of them on the world market), the situation is colourful. There are factories that make a really great product because they manage to get a good active substance, and there are some with no effect at all.
Tribulus stimulates the pituitary gland to increase the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH), which in turn signals the testicles to produce more testosterone. Tribulus prevents the body from recognizing excess secretion of androgens and thus prevents the testicles from reducing their own testosterone production. When using anabolics, when we introduce synthetic testosterone into the bloodstream, the testicles reduce the production of their own testosterone, so after we stop taking anabolics, we need to take substances (Clomid) that return the production of our own testosterone to normal.
When taking weaker “courses” of anabolics, we can use tribulus instead of Clomid to restore the secretion of our own testosterone to normal.
The duration of the tribulus course is eight weeks. After that, the body registers that “something” increases the secretion of testosterone from the testicles and the effect ceases, so there is no point in spending money further, there is no effect.
The use of nutritional supplements is always accompanied by training goals, so we use Tribulus for stronger mesocycles of training when we train intensively and, if possible, we also use Tribulus with creatine, BCAAs, and glutamine to get the most out of training.
It certainly does not make sense to use Tribulus with some kind of regeneration training.
Bulgarian Tribestan is 250 milligrams and it’s used from 750 to 1500 mg per day. If we take 750 mg per day, then we drink one tablet every eight hours. If we take 1500 mg daily, then two tablets every eight hours.
With other manufacturers, it is preferable to follow the instructions given by the factory on the label.
